BRATISLAVA Puppet Theatre placed among 10 financially awarded pieces at the international festival, Harmony World Puppet Carnival, held in Bangkok, Thailand, with its play called Aaahr!! performed in English.

It was the only Slovak theatre to attend the festival where 116 plays from 64 countries were presented, the TASR newswire reported.

The theatre was nominated in three categories: the best artistic performance, the best actress (where Adela Mojžišová was nominated) and the most original performance. It won the last category, receiving $1,000.

The Aaahr!! performance has already been awarded at several international competitions.

It is directed by Ivan Martinka and Andrej Kalinka and translated by Katarína Jánošová.

The play, intended for children younger than 5 years of age, describes the world of a creative child who tries to catch what is real and what is not.

It gradually reveals the relations of an ordinary family, its problems and also joys connected with searching for your own self, as reported by TASR.
