THE LATEST issue of French satiric magazine Charlie Hedbo will come also to the Slovak newsstands. The exporter of French press will offer 100 copies in Slovakia.
“Regarding the limited number of issues, the management of company decided to accept the request of the French Embassy and provide it with several issues,” Doris Bacigalová from Interpress Slovakia told the TASR newswire. “Other issues will be donated to the fund-raising event whose yield will be sent directly to the editors of the French satiric magazine Charlie Hebdo.”
The remaining issues will be offered for free sale to the newsstands owned by the company in Bratislava and Košice, and also to network of Mediaprint company. The sale should start on January 16.
The latest issue of Charlie Hebdo with the caricature of Prophet Muhammad on its cover page was issued in 16 language mutations. The image with green background depicts Muhammad wearing white turban and holding a table with inscription “Je suis Charlie” (I am Charlie). The title on the cover page states “Tout est pardonné” (Everything is forgiven), which the French media explain with saying that the Prophet Muhammad forgave the caricaturists that they were making fun of him, TASR wrote.
